Libris Agency was founded by Mustafa Urgen and Bengu Ayfer Gungor — best friends and longtime publishing professionals with over decades of experience in the international book industry.
Over the years, we have represented numerous publishers and literary agencies from around the world, successfully negotiating a wide range of translation and publishing deals.
Based in Istanbul, Libris Agency is a dedicated and dynamic literary agency specializing in translation rights for adult (fiction and nonfiction), children’s, and young adult titles across all genres.
Our mission is to connect stories with the right publishers globally. We combine deep industry expertise with a personalized, strategic approach — ensuring that every title we represent finds its ideal home and reaches its fullest international potential.

Bengü was born in Istanbul and graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University. She began her career as a lifestyle and culture writer for various magazines before transitioning into the publishing industry. For nearly two decades, she has served as a Foreign Rights Director, developing extensive expertise across all categories of children’s books.
In addition to her work in publishing, Bengü is an experienced freelance translator, having translated numerous children’s and young adult titles into Turkish. Passionate about storytelling and the magic of imagination, she has a lifelong love of fairy tales—her favorite book is Peter Pan.
Mustafa Urgen is a literary agent and editor with a background in film and publishing.
After studying Cinema and Television at Anadolu University, he began his career as an editor and later moved into foreign rights, representing a wide range of adult titles for the Turkish market.
He has a strong interest in well-crafted non-fiction, particularly books on history, psychology, and personal finance, as well as fiction that blends observation, wit, and mystery within contemporary urban settings.
He enjoys discovering works that offer readers new ways to see the world and themselves.
